Clean Slate
Slate and sterling silver - Conceptual egg cup
Based on a planar concept. The piece is symbolically anchored to the table by the weight of the slate from which the cantilevered silver plane really extends the egg towards you. It’s meant to impart a certain sacredness about the egg; the feeling of a beginning, the breaking of the fast.
I made it in a time of great change, symbolically it enabled me to leave behind a lot of stuff I no longer needed and embrace new ideas and inputs.
